Pressure Tanks

Pressure Tanks are used especially in the sparkling wine production with the Charmat method.

The Charmat method, unlike the classic method, allows to work wines in a fast way, in continuous production, adopting the most modern techniques as developed by wine industry and maintaining unchanged the natural qualities of the wine. In fact, pressure tanks can tolerate pressures until 8-10 bar, with the possibility to proceed to the refrigeration or the heating of the contained liquids.

They are stainless steel tanks with pressure closing, assembled by laminates modeled with welded joints and constituted by semielliptical bottom and roof.  The external structure is supported by close truncated-pyramidal section legs, obtained from press-bending sheet , that rest on screw adjustable feet. In addition they are all equipped of interstices with independent heating group for the glycol circulation and totally insulated with high density material; all coated with riveted stainless steel sheets, or if required, with welded sheets.

All models are tested and verified in every phase of production by an appropriate institution (ISPESL-TUV-CODAPE), to obtain EEC certification according to relative current stiff rules.

Technical features:

  • vertical cylindrical axis;
  • semielliptical bottom and roof with full discharge;
  • boxfeet equipped with registers for grades compensation;
  • full insulated;
  • they can be equipped with washing system, fixed or extractable stirrer, porous candle and insulated stainless steel manway lid.

This tanks are divided in two major families: ATC CTS and ATC RIV.

 The firsts, ATC CTS, present a polyurethane foam insulation with which totally disappear in the interstice between the two tanks: internal and external. The latter is entirely welded with robotized system in order to realize a faultless and with best practice external finishing.

Rather than firsts, ATC RIV are insulated with a coating realized with laminate riveting inox 304 with 2B or flowered finishing.
